ServerHouse announce plans to open new Hampshire data centre

ServerHouse, a leading colocation provider based in Fareham, has announced plans to open a fifth data centre in the area. Building work for the new 22,000-square-foot centre will commence this year and is expected to open in late 2014. Based on Cams Estate the new facility will also open up a number of new job opportunities to the local community.

ServerHouse pioneered colocation in 1997 when it became one of the very first data centres to operate outside of London. The company has continued to lead the way in the industry by opening the first Dedicated Carrier Neutral Facility on the South Coast in 2001. They were also one of the first providers to offer 1kW racks, double the then industry standard, and now offer up to 6kW per rack across four different facilities in Fareham.

Now celebrating its 15th anniversary since opening, ServerHouse is looking forward to expanding their data centre network and implementing innovative new systems to make their service even more secure, reliable and energy efficient.

Gary Coates, Manager at ServerHouse commented: "This newest data centre represents our commitment to providing customers with the highest level of services and reliability in order to meet the ongoing needs of their business."

"The centre itself will be a brand new purpose-built facility, which encompasses a 22,000-square-foot space and provides Tier III technical space and outstanding levels of connectivity."

The new co-location facility will offer the company’s full suite of cloud computing, colocation, data storage and managed services, as well as 24x7 technical staffing.

As well as their dedication to innovation, ServerHouse also continuously monitor and improve their systems to be as efficient as possible and are registered for the UK's CRC (Carbon Reduction Commitment). Methods implemented to date include free cooling, aisle containment, automated and LED lighting, and a rolling UPS replacement program which has resulted in a 28% saving in energy usage

The company has also recently achieved ISO9001 and ISO27001 accreditation.
